So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out looking for an alternative to Bare Minerals Makeup. The Bare Minerals made me itch. So I started researching ingredients and formulas to make a product that will not irritate the skin. After a year or two of research and formulating and a lot of mishaps Fusion of Color Cosmetics was born. We make our products in small batches to ensure freshness and batch color consistency. Fusion of color is always looking to make the best products to give to our customers.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it wasn’t. When we started out there was no information on the web like there is now. We had to research what ingredients worked and which didn’t. We had to buy ingredients and formulate to see how they worked on the skin. Lots of trial and error. Also, there were hardly any places to buy packaging. So we had to test out what packaging worked and where we could buy it.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fusion of Color Cosmetics – what should we know?
Fusion of Color specializes in mineral makeup. I think we are known for our eyeshadows. Our shadows are blendable and last all day. We do not do overly sparkly cosmetics, we make colors that will be in style for years to come. I think what may set us apart is we try to use the least possible ingredients to keep our products clean.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We are honest as to what we put in our makeup and keep the price point low, so all the women can afford to buy from us.
