Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Gopin.
Lindsay, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a mother of 3 young children, one of my biggest struggles was the need to be 3 places at once. I wanted a variety of high-quality classes for all my kids, in one parent-friendly environment. I also wanted a space for people in the community to network together while providing jobs and opportunities for other professionals.
My background is in education and social work. Prior to opening Rootz, I ran a private therapy practice for children/adolescents. I truly know that my purpose in life is to help and inspire children.
My mom’s favorite parenting quote is “Give your kids roots to grow and wings to fly”. As a mother myself, I certainly relate to this quote. Rootz is a facility that can truly offer the fun and important experiences needed by children to grow into healthy, happy and successful adults.
It takes a village to raise children and I am so honored to have created a place that will have such an impact on a child’s life.
Has it been a smooth road?
In order to accomplish any goal, I have always accepted that there will be challenges along the way. Challenges create opportunity and they are actually very important to my business. I have never driven down a smooth road in my life and it’s the bumps that make me pay attention and know which directions to take.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with ROOTZ – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Rootz is a Children Enrichment Center. We provide all types of creative enrichment classes for kids. Dance, Theater, Music, Science, Art, Fitness, and Early Childhood classes. We are also a venue space for bday parties, events, bar/bat mitzvahs, and weddings.
Rootz also has a blowdry Salon, children’s retail boutique and a healthy café. The beauty of Rootz is that we offer so many things under one roof. The facility was strategically designed to accomplish all of these aspects.
I am most proud of Rootz in that it is a true family business. My husband and children are all very involved. Additionally, my staff are incredible. There are a lot of moving pieces inside of Rootz and the staff all share the same vision and message we are bringing to the community.
