Cesar, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Gadget Salvation company started in 2008 as a mail-in service to buy used laptops. After a couple years we expanded to smartphones, tablets and other high-end electronics. We now offer our service nationwide to not only individuals but also small companies, organizations and large corporations. Our team has been able to operate in different scales thanks to our increasing network partnership with businesses around the U.S. that form part of the used electronics market.
Has it been a smooth road?
Not entirely. It took 2 years for our website to gain prime positioning under major google search results, Now our website has maintained positions #1 and #2 on the most popular Google Search Results for our industry for many years. Organic traffic has been our strongest source of traffic. We’ve been organically picked up as well by major tech blogs and ABC news.
Another great obstacle to beat was Apple introducing their own trade-in program back in 2015, it affected greatly the used smartphones industry, forcing companies like Gazelle.com to be sold for a quarter of its value on previous years. We maintained our position by offering higher quotes than Apple. Pricing was key to compete with this giant, we were offering close 50% more than Apple would offer for their trade-ins, eventually, people found out our programs and the word of mouth started. Now we are well established when it comes down to Smartphones trade-ins arena.
