Meet Nate Kloosterman of PhysioPoint Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Kloosterman.

Nate, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started PhysioPoint with the desire to provide clients with the time they needed in order to be properly diagnosed and treated. Our profession is dominated by physicians, nurses, and providers that are to busy to take the time to practice what was taught in school.

I wanted to make a difference because I felt it didn’t have to be done this way and there had to be another way. Starting out in a 1200 sq foot space as a solo practitioner I answered the phones, billed insurance, scheduled clients and did the treatments. I even cleaned the toilets and maintained the building.

It was a grind at first and on more than one occasion my wife and I had the discussion of whether or not to close the doors.

Persistence paid off and the community of crown point recognized the difference we were making. physicians started referring our way, friends and family recommended us and before long we were in a 3000 sq foot space with 3 doctors of physical therapy.

We now offer Redcord, Pilates, Medical Exercise, Dry Needling, Manual Therapy, Massage and Mindset coaching. We have a women’s health program run by Dr. Alli Riddering and a sports mindset program run by 2 x Olympian Dr. Matt Gentry. We feel privileged to provide Lake County Indiana with the type of services to help with physical wellness and movement training so that people can enjoy life to its full potential.

Has it been a smooth road?
getting referrals, working 2 jobs to make it work, learning on the fly (our schooling doesn’t teach us how to do this), finding the best of the best to work with. Our team is amazing and works for the benefit of each person that walks through our doors.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the PhysioPoint Therapy story. Tell us more about the business.
We are proud of the fact that our clients not only appreciate feeling better but keep coming back because of the relationships and bonds we build. We are applying the latest and greatest methods and use state of the art equipment but it’s the relationships that you’ll be most likely to hear about from our clients.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see TeleHealth coming. Thought the human touch is very important, there are conditions that can be treated with “Skype” I see concierge medicine and a focus on more natural ways of healing becoming more mainstream. With the opioid addiction crisis in our country, there is a huge opportunity for us to step up and help those in need. It will be up to us to treat these clients with respect and compassion in order to help them with non-pharmacologic means of dealing with chronic pain.
