Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Marsh.
Barbara, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Inspired by my grandmother and mother and father, I learned how enjoyable it was to cook, bake, and the art of crafts. I took a chance on faith to open a business, I felt, was my destiny and my purpose. For years, I reminded myself of just what it was that I wanted to do. When the opportunity arose, I opened the door and walked in. Before I opened my business, I acquired the knowledge of how to run a business as well as experience what I needed to know. I feel that the success of running a business, successfully, is knowing the business. Never jump into anything you know nothing about. I feel my business is successful for many reasons, but one important thing is that I Really Love My Business and What I do.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has been one the hardest roads I have traveled. Among some of the many struggles, was no capital. Much more money was going out than coming in for years. Many times I wanted to give up, but I knew if I did the probability of opening up a business again, would never happen. Therefore, I had to hang in and make huge sacrifices. Finding trusting, dependable, and dedicated people was another issue. It took years before I could find the right employees who were willing to my job easier and more successful.
Let’s Get Poppin, Inc. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Let’s Get Poppin is a gourmet popcorn shoppe. We specialize in different flavors of popcorn, pastries and many other tasty goodies. We state with the finest ingredients, like pure hybrid mushroom popcorn. Our popcorn is dry popped. We use no oils to pop our corn. We use real butter, brown sugar, real cheddar cheese – 0% trans fats and gluten free, along with other natural ingredients. We hand pop our popcorn, one batch at a time. Our pastries are baked with butter, eggs, milk and other natural ingredients. Although our pastries are well known, we are mainly known for our popcorn. I am proud of the way our company is run. Fortunately, we are all professional and take pride in our product. What sets us apart, is that we all have a personal/business relationship with each other.
