Today we’d like to introduce you to Luisa and Ken Bronski.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We started in 2008, the construction economy was at a low, Ken Bronski a 3rd generation union electrician and I decided we needed to take control of our financial destiny in an industry where like companies were folding. By purchasing a service truck and conducting business from our home, Volt Electric was born.
We primarily focused on service work with clients cultivated over generations adding and building as the years passed. In 2012 we built an office and had grown to have over 50 employees and 14 trucks. In 2016 we became certified WBE for the City of Chicago, in 2017 we currently hold CDB, IDHR, WBE State of Illinois, and IDOT certifications.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Yes it has been a smooth road. We were and still are very cautious in selecting companies we work with building relationships along the way. Growing the company at a steady incline. We find our niche is any type of work that requires an electrician. We rarely say NO.
Please tell us about Volt Electric, Inc.
We are a woman owned I.B.E.W. Electrical Contractor in the State of Illinois. Volt Electric serves the greater Chicago-land area from all facets of new construction to industrial conveyor systems, chemical plants and plastic injection molding plants and servicing some of the world’s largest manufacturing plants to running wires from the roofs of skyscrapers to third level basements. Volt Electric has performed work from Industrial manufacturing to retail stores. All have played intricate parts in molding Volt Electric to what it is today.
In addition to low voltage, data, and fiber optic experience, we have installed automatic building control systems and are familiar with Johnson, Siemens, and Honeywell controls. Current customers include local municipalities, school districts, manufacturing plants, Retail establishments, test laboratories, property management companies, as well as residential and office complexes. From parking lot maintenance through motor control problems we offer a full line of electrical services.
What sets us apart from other electrical contractors is our dedication with full service to our clients. I am most proud of the certifications we hold in the industry as well as being a 100% union contractor.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could start over, I would have started the company 10 years before we did capturing the height of the construction industry. But perhaps things are what they are for a reason.
