Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Gurgol.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My career in the polishing industry started 30 years ago with no former experience had to work on second shift as a grunt. After working 5 years on second shift proving that I was a good polisher, I was asked to move to first shift as a lead. 3 years of working first shift the company folded. Bouncing back and forth between polishing shops, learning everything that I could, I became known as the “Go to Guy” to get it done right. I was given the opportunity to purchase CBA Polishing. After incorporating it, I got to work taking care of my clients, small and as big as fortune 500 companies in a timely manner with zero re-work. Dealing with the economies ups and downs throughout the years has taught me to become more efficient and learn that bigger isn’t always better.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The economy and government regulations has been the challenge.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CBA Polishing, Inc. story. Tell us more about the business.
The name CBA Polishing Inc. speaks for itself, it stands for Company Built Around Polishing. We specialize in manufacturing stainless steel fittings, pumps, and valves to federal dairy and pharmaceutical standards. I am proud to be able to keep my doors open in this tough economy. What sets me apart from others without patting myself on the back is that I can do it all, sales, marketing, ID, OD polishing, machining, and welding. Most companies have one person for each of these positions.
