Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Zarubin.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in a family where my father was a general contractor and my mother interior designer. I remember my childhood as a constant “under construction” process, because my family was buying, renovating, and selling properties all their life. That’s why we were always moving from one house to another. It was the perfect combination of my father’s construction skills and my mother’s interior design taste that gave our family success in flipping houses. That is why good taste in interior design and construction knowledge was transferred to me through my DNA.
Back in 2009, I opened my first company called Luxury Art Decor in Philadelphia, PA where we performed interior remodeling for commercial spaces like restaurants, night clubs, and offices. After moving to Chicago, IL I opened the company Ultra Lux Construction and we started expanding our business to residential remodeling and restaurantinterior design and construction. We’ve done over 300 small and big rehabs in the Chicago area. We started with small single family
It wasn’t easy to gain success and gain a reputation in the market for good quality and exclusive taste of European Style interior design.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At the very beginning in Chicago I decided to start a real estate flipping business and I got my start purchasing a couple auction properties in as is condition, without visiting the property, because Judicial Sales does not allow you to go inside. Of course we had bunch of surprises like over 3 feet of water in the basement that added additional 30,000$ to our unexpected expenses of rehab costs. We’ve been going through rough times with those flips but we solved all the issues and survived. Going through all this issues with remodeling and fixing old properties give me and my team good experience and knowledge how to solve “unsolvable” issues.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ultra Lux Construction – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our company specializes in kitchen & bathroom remodeling. We provide free interior design services if the client hires us and we are always there for tips and to share our experience with the client absolutely for free, explaining pros and cons of different types of material the client is willing to use,etc. We are also known for very professional carpentry work. We have a huge cabinetry line selection with over 16 different styles and colors. We are proud of the quality of our work; all our employees are experienced workers with European work experience. We have 5–star feedback on Yelp, Google, FB, and other sites. It’s hard to gain a good reputation nowadays. But we stand for quality and our services are under warranty. If there are any issues in the future the client is always able to call us and we will be there to resolve the issue.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now, our main destination is to open a couple show rooms in Downtown Chicago, to have clients visit the showroom and see what kind of remodeling we are able to do and what kind of cabinetry we provide. Recently a lot of clients reached us from downtown Chicago, mostly for condo remodeling. We are always open for this, since we are licensed, bonded, and insured. Clients are always reaching out to us to ask our opinion about the combination of materials, colors, and styles that they are planning on using and we always recommend a good combination of colors, styles and types of materials so their property lo
