Chris, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The business started in 2004, shortly after I sold 10,000 medical textbooks on eBay. The idea was to sell bankruptcy assets online to maximize recovery in bankruptcies. Over time, we purchased closeout inventory and sold that inventory via eBay, Amazon, and Walmart.com. This launched DealGenius.com which features all our new inventory daily at large discounted prices.
Starting from my parents basement, we now operate in a 70,000 square foot warehouse / office employing over 40 people and continuing to grow each year.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish! E-commerce the past ten years has been changing so fast. While it’s getting easier overtime, working through both industry and small business growing pains I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy. For example, when the business started there wasn’t very strong software available to reduce the labor intensive work that goes behind selling products online.

What sets us apart is that we don’t cut corners and put the customer first.
