Meet Emmy Rigali of GO Cycle Fitness in Old Town

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmy Rigali.

Emmy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been in the fitness biz for over 30 years! Taught every fad that has ever been. I fell in love with spinning when it came to Chicago and never looked back. After teaching at the East Bank Club for 20 years, I decided it was time to break out on my own! I opened GO Cycle 6 years ago and added GO Row 2 years ago. We were one of the first boutique fitness studios in Chicago and I’m proud to be a pioneer in the industry!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The competition has increased like crazy over the years with a new studio popping up all the time. I have to always stay on top of my game and ahead of the curve. It’s so important to have amazing instructors. It’s a challenge to find and train instructors. I’m always creating a new way to work that push-up…brain always cookin’!!!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with GO Cycle Fitness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is GO Cycle Fitness and GO Row. We offer cycling classes and rowing interval classes. Our high intensity, always a party vibe keeps our members coming back class after class! I’m most proud of the vibe of my studio. The best compliment I get is that we are the friendliest joint in town. Welcoming and unintimidating are other words to describe GO. I love that we have created a community of people that I’m proud to call my friends.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m always up for the next big thing! You gotta be open to change and ever creative in this industry. I’m always planning something new….
