Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Bogyo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chris. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
From the youngest age, I can remember cooking with my brothers. When I was old enough to be in front of a grill, I was! I mainly cooked for family and friends in my teenage years and into my 20’s. I ended up at a Chicago culinary school and graduated found myself in a few kitchens and found the desire to open my own with my family. I traveled the KCBS circuit around the Midwest, won some, lost some but the constant remained that everyone we met loved our Bbq. I have worked hard to create my own signature sauces and rubs, mastered the art of smoking meats to the perfect level and there you have it, Mr. B’s BBQ was born!
Has it been a smooth road?
Anyone can tell you that owning your own business is never a smooth road! We are definitely getting into a groove and are enjoying all of our loyal customers. And having our food tasted around Chicagoland during our catered lunches through a company called Fooda. We think one of our greatest compliments is when we’ll sell out for the day – it means we did our job and we are doing something right!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mr. B’s BBQ story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a family-owned BBQ restaurant, we smoke all our meats fresh daily, we use highest quality meats, spices, and fresh ingredients to thrill your BBQ needs. We are most proud of our commitment to our customers. We are now open 7 days a week and have a large delivery area along with catering daily across Chicago! We are small but we are mighty we strive for the best-smoked flavors and live our small feel in a big city. Our favorites are our large pig roasts, personalized private catering menus and our vast array of sides that are prepared daily too!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
BBQ is hot right now! And if it’s done right it’s smokin! That’s where we are – we would love to have an additional restaurant location within the next 5 years and maybe even a second location in 10 years! If you dream it.
