Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Quero.
Victoria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Graduating from Depaul University, I thought I wanted to be an attorney. My first full time position out of college was in the Legal Department of a large railcar company based in downtown Chicago. While I quickly realized I did not want to be a lawyer, I discovered that I enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of the Freight Rail Industry. I moved to other positions within that company and also obtained my Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship and International Business from DePaul.
In looking for new growth opportunities, I met Craig Bargowski of CRMS Rail and began working with him to provide services to Shippers in the Rail Industry. I learned how to store railcars, clean and repair railcars, negotiate lease arrangements, and more. Some customers asked CRMS to provide mobile services to help keep their cars safe and updated while they were in movement (instead of sending cars to a shop). From this need we developed Creative Railcar Stenciling Services with our third business partner, Ben Hines, and have been providing mobile railcar services for nearly four years now.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have definitely had ups and downs. Much of our business is based on regulations mandated by Government Agencies that are very hard to predict. Also, because we do this work on a mobile basis, we have unique challenges in dealing with a remote team.

Creative Railcar Stenciling Services provides mobile services to freight railcars. Instead of spending a lot of money and taking a lot of time to send the railcars to shop, the railcar owners can call us to perform the mobile work. We work all over North America, with crews in Canada, US, and Mexico; we are proud to say all of our workers have been with us long-term. We are unique in that we are one of the most modern service providers in our sector, utilizing technology in everything that we do.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have some connections to very modern equipment from Europe that we are looking to incorporate in our service menu.
