Today we’d like to introduce you to Apollo Miller.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Apollo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in the entertainment industry in 1988 as a disc jockey. Gaining popularity through mixtape and parties I began to host my own events including JB skate parties.
In 2008, DJ Lil’ Tal and I hosted an event called “Show Yo Roll”. We decided to videotape the event in hopes in selling a DVD. That DVD was highly successful and was the birth of Idinity Vision Studios and future film projects. After, I produced two more solo skate projects called A “Skaters Dream” and “Let’s Do This JB Style”. After that, the company produced short films, commercials, stage plays, and comedy shows in conjunction with other Chicago production companies. Today, Idinity Vision Studios is known for its full line of media production, including animation, special effects editing, graphic design and film production.
Has it been a smooth road?
No it has not. It started off great producing and selling projects that were totally my own, but once I started offering production services to other local business it became a headache. Long story short, it’s hard getting small business to understand the amount of work that goes in to a project and financial worth the it’s entitled to. So, I no longer lower my pricing just to cater to small business. I set my standards according to my worth and move forward with the business that can appreciate that.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Idinity Vision Studios story. Tell us more about the business.
Idinity Vision Studios is a media production company. Specializing in cinema styled video production. We also handle other media needs such as audio production and graphic design. We are known for blowing our clients minds. (This is what set us apart from others) We take simple commercial projects and turn it into a 30sec “movie like” video promo. Most companies main concern is their bottom line, their profits, our main concern is how we’re going to produce a project that will “blow your mind”. That’s also why we’re proud as a company, because we take initiative to “top” the last project, we’re consistently growing our skills, technology and ability to produce exciting media.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The biggest trend in our industry today is 3D. In the next 5 – 10 years I can expect 3D to be a standard where regular everyday productions (such as sitcoms, commercials, and sporting events) are filmed in 3D. The big shifts have been from started HD video to 4K it’s already have been talks about 4K. The use of “Film” in cinema production are virtually ancient history, now everything is digital, including distribution to the theatre.
