Aspire Home Healthcare, LLC is an orthopedic home healthcare agency that was established in September of 2013. Currently, we have a total of 93 employees.
Aspire was created to provide high-quality care for home-bound patients following any orthopedic injury or procedure, including but not limited to, total joint replacement, spinal fusion, bone fracture, etc. The market continues to tell us that patients are discharging sooner from the hospital, now more so than ever before, and thus, it is our mission to encourage patients to go directly home versus going to a skilled nursing facility by offering them superior care.
Aspire is also the sole home healthcare provider to 3 outpatient orthopedic surgery centers for all of their outpatient total joint replacement surgeries. We are able to handle these more acute cases by providing highly trained skilled nurses who specialize in orthopedic care, as well as expert therapists who use advanced therapy techniques to facilitate the patient’s recovery process. We continue to exceed both doctor and patient expectations, which has been the key to our success.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Although we have had amazing growth over the past 3 1/2 years, one of our biggest struggles continues to be expansion of territories.
Currently within the state of Illinois, there is a moratorium for home health care providers, which limits any existing home healthcare agencies from expanding their coverage regions or acquiring Medicare Part B licensure.
We also would like to obtain Medicare Part B licensure to allow us to vend our own durable medical equipment (DME) like walkers, canes, etc. Currently we must use a contracted entity to vend this equipment. Also without Medicare part B licensure, we cannot provide patients with the option to get flu or pneumonia vaccination from our company.
We are currently in-network with BCBS PPO/HMO, Cigna, Aetna, UHC Medicare Solutions, and BCBS Medicare Advantage. And of course, Medicare.

Aspire Home Healthcare is the only home healthcare agency that specializes in only orthopedic care. Our therapists and nurses all have an extensive background in orthopedics from inpatient care to outpatient. Their knowledge surpasses any other clinicians in regards to home care.
We currently are the preferred provider for home healthcare to Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI). In 2013, IBJI began a program called Orthosync to track the care of their total joint replacement patients post-operatively. Aspire is currently the top performer in this program for cost and timeliness of transitioning patients to the next level of care, outpatient physical therapy.
Aspire takes pride in being the sole home healthcare provider to 3 outpatient surgical centers where outpatient total joint replacements are being performed. In fact, Aspire developed the protocol for nursing and PT care for these patients following surgery. We are currently partnered with Illinois Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Center (ISMOSC) in Morton Grove, Ravine Way Surgery Center in Glenview, and the Hawthorn Surgery Center in Vernon Hills.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We have found that our specialization in orthopedic care is what makes us stand out above all other home care companies. We truly are able to provide the gold standard in orthopedic home care for patients.
