Today we’d like to introduce you to Sri Kalapala and Dr. Sheel Patel.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The idea first came in July of 2014. I woke up with neck pain and was unable to find a doctor that would come to me. This was when the gig economy was really taking off, so I was surprised by the fact there was not someone already doing this here. After forming a team, we started building out the initial concept in late 2014 on the simple basis of “Healthcare that comes to you.”
Our first version was a very bootstrapped scheduling platform. We started out by covering all types of healthcare services such as massage therapy and chiropractic care. After testing that model, we ultimately came to the decision to focus on solving one problem. To connect patients with doctors for convenient in home visits.
With the help of our Chief Medical Officer, we built a more robust platform for our patients and physicians. Convenience and efficiency were woven into each protocol and each line of code in order to maximize physician-patient interaction time. Our system has virtually eliminated the negative aspects of healthcare for provider and patient alike
We have been live in the Chicago area since January, spending a considerable amount of time truly understanding our customer base and how we can better service them in the future.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With any new start up, a smooth road doesn’t really exist. There will always be unforeseen challenges to overcome. One of our early struggles was finding cost effective ways to reach out our customers. Since acquiring new customers can be expensive, it required us to think outside the box on how to grow our business without breaking the bank.

Insita is a healthcare technology platform that connects doctors with patients for in home visits. We provide pediatricians or general practitioners when a patient is unable to or chooses not to leave their home to seek healthcare
Our physicians are known for their paramount bedside manner and Insita, as a whole, is completely customer service driven. Our patients are very grateful that we can come to them in times of need, and provide a better experience than they can find in any other health care setting–and that’s what makes us proud
I am most proud of our team. We have worked together for almost 3 years on solving this problem. That shows the type of passion our team has, and the dedication we all have to provide the Chicago area with a great service. We truly enjoy doing this which sets us apart from others.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans for the future include continuing to expand in the Chicagoland area and build on the services we currently offer.
