Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Goldstein.
Jeff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I went to Columbia College in Chicago and graduated with a degree in Film and Video and since finishing school I knew that I wanted to start my own production company. I started XVP Studios out of my house in 2006 focusing on filming social events. By 2007 I hired my first employee who specialized in 3d animation and we started shifting our focus into corporate video. I continued to recruit more and more people in the film world and now today we have 20 employees at XVP Studios and we produce over 400 events a year.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Since starting we have continued to raise sales every year. We have networked with the right people which has really gone a long way for us.
XVP Studios – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our company produces social events, corporate events, social media videos and commercials. We also have an A/V department and we supply lighting, sound and video for live events. I started out as an editor for XVP Studios but now I have transitioned mainly into the sales side of the company. I am amazed everyday in seeing how much we have grown in such a short amount of time. Still after 10 years, film and video is still a huge passion for me and I am so happy to be working in this field. What sets us apart from other companies is that we offer everything from pre-production all the way through the post-production stage of building content. With so many departments we have it is nice that we are able to keep most of our projects all in house.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is doing what you love to do on a daily basis and being able to provide for your family. I am so thankful that I enjoy coming to work everyday doing what I love to do.
