Today we’d like to introduce you to John Wascow.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Upon graduation from college, I formed an amateur motorcycle racing team with my older brother and my college roommate. We were a very successful and accomplished racing team in our first full year of racing. But perhaps the most significant injury and “defining moment” that transformed my desire to help athletes and people into a passion, occurred on March 23rd of 2003. On this day, I was racing in St. Louis, IL and was involved in a multiple bike crash that sent me to the hospital in a Flight for Life helicopter. After 6 months of grueling rehabilitation due to a head injury, I finally returned to work. But, my struggles and pains during this whole experience will never be forgotten and they have, in turn, fueled my desire to help people get out of pain so they can live their life to the fullest. So I went to chiropractic school because I wanted to give back and help people as I was helped.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t really call them struggles, more learning experiences. Upon graduation, I worked for some docs that were all excellent physicians. But, when you work with a couple of docs you find out that they have their own way of practicing. I realized that some doctors did things that could be improved and made more efficient. I have learned from these experiences and implemented these changes into my practice so that things can run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with JW Center for Spinal Health – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a wellness clinic that specializes in chiropractic care, acupuncture, and nutrition. Our goal is to get a patient as healthy as quickly as possible. No one truly likes going to a doctor’s office. So, our goal is to get people better quickly. That’s what I like about our company. We have many different tools in our toolbox to use to help a patient get better. We are unique in that no two treatment plans are the same and that we utilize different treatment approaches to get patients better.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the people of Northbrook. The people are extremely nice, inviting, and always looking to help. It also has some good restaurants, which is also a plus. In regards to what I like least about our city, well, there really is nothing that comes to mind that could be considered negative about Northbrook.
