Today we’d like to introduce you to Jean-Raymond Desruisseaux.
Founded in 2008 by the vision of John Koht, creative director, we’re a team of strategists, thinkers, and creators. In 2007, John was working in hospitality industry in the Chicagoland area and honing his development skills that he’d picked up as a young adult. As his interest picked up momentum, as did his competency. He took some classes to master some specific skills and started designing and building websites for bars and restaurants in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
In March of 2008, John started kohactive and began spreading the word about his offerings and growing his team. Today we are a team of 9, working in harmony to create beautiful digital experiences for all sorts of clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The digital consultant landscape is a competitive one, peppered with companies of all sizes and competency levels. As we’ve grown, we’ve been able to navigate working through the competition by maintaining our commitment to customer service and providing the best experience for our clients.

We create beautiful and effective digital products. While we got our start building simple marketing sites and landing pages, we’ve since expanded our offerings to web/mobile application development logo design, branding, and messaging as well. We’re nationally renowned for designing clean, modern User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) and our proficiency at HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and Ruby on Rails development.
