Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Torres.
Robert, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I wanted to start a company that I would be able to help parents and teens with the drug issues that we’re having by educating not only parents but also companies. Growing up in Humboldt Park Chicago, I saw firsthand what drugs do to you and where it takes you and thought this would be the perfect business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The hardest struggle was starting the business in the midst of a recession, having to adjust to the new business approach and needs.

We specialize in providing independent companies with low-cost and efficient pre-employment background check and drug-testing programs. We are most proud of our business to business delivery approach focusing on customer service, product and pricing but also educating our clients which gives us an advantage and sets us apart from others.
What were you like growing up?
As a Latino male with three siblings and growing up in Humboldt Park in the 80’s, it was a difficult time. My father was the only one working and we were limited to what we could buy. After I graduated from grammar school and attended High school, is when the peer pressure of drugs and gangs surrounded me. However, I was able to overcome the obstacles of constant pressure that I encountered on a daily basis.
I’m proud to be the first graduate in my family. After High School, I was determined to be successful and was blessed to work at the Chicago Stock Exchange for 13 years. I then left the stock exchange and started my own business.
Dreams do come true with education, hard work and persistence. Always keep your head up high and surround yourself with positive people. Never give up on your dream and passion. Lastly, let success drive you to achieve your highest goal possible.
