Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Clausen.
The school was started in 1946 by Mr. W. Edward Adams. He eventually married Evangeline Adams who became involved with the business as well. They ran the business together until the untimely death of Mr. Adams in 1984. In the summer of 1985, their daughter Kathy Clausen who at the time was a RN running a Home Health Care agency joined the company. The school was the first school licensed to teach teen’s driver education. All three of the Adams family were involved with rule and law changes regarding driver ed and traffic safety in Illinois.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have a passion for helping our students become the safest and most confident drivers on the road. Unfortunately that involves dealing with cars and the weather both of which can be challenging.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about a-Adams School of Driving – what should we know?
We provide driver education and traffic safety courses to anyone 15 years old and up. Our teachers are full time professionals who go thru more training than any other driver ed teacher in Illinois. Our teachers are also monitored constantly to make sure they are providing the best education possible. Because we provide benefits to our staff, we are able to hire the best in the field.
We also provide accident avoidance classes to individuals and companies who desire to make their employees safer drivers.
Our passion and dedication to our students allows us to provide excellent education and help as needed by our customers. We are now on 4th generation of families, proud to have people return to us for over 70 years.
