Meet Michael Gourley, Psychic Medium

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Gourley.

Michael, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I learned I had a gift at a very young age but I really didn’t understand it until I was a teenager. That’s when I became interested and captivated in learning more about what it meant. I learned that there were different abilities and that I was a clairvoyant, intuitive, and a medium. Once I knew my abilities and what I could do with them, I wanted to develop them to where I could have a better understanding and control over them to be the best at it. I wasn’t good with regular subjects in school but this came easy to me. I didn’t have the best experience in school so I focused most of my time on my abilities.

After I finished high school an opportunity to have a booth at a fair was bought to my attention. I never did anything like that, (see up to that point I had only been practicing with my family and friends.) I said to myself what do I have to lose, so I took a leap in faith. Really when I think about it, it was my spirit guides pushing me to go. Which I’m glad I did because I met some incredible people that day. Which lead to other great opportunities.

I was one of the youngest invited to be a part of America’s Best Psychics. After a while I started doing this full time, doing psychic advice/interviews for local newspapers, and radio. Honestly speaking I think I was too young at that time to handle the responsibilities that came with my abilities. While at times readings can be fun and light hearted. Most of the time, people that come to us are at a challenging point of their lives. From losing loved ones to being spiritually broken and that was hard for me. So, one day I walked away and went back to school for a completely different field of work but after a while I became unhappy because I wasn’t being true to myself. I felt like I was hiding to fit in what I thought society said I had to be.

After a few years and certain situations, I couldn’t fight it anymore and found myself being pushed back to my natural abilities. This time older, more mature spiritually and with a little bit more life experience. I decided to start doing what I now know in my heart I was meant to do. So, once I accepted my faith I felt nothing could stop me. I reconnected with America’s best psychics for a while and then I decided to go on my own. That was 8 years ago and now I have been voted as one of the top 10 psychics in the Chicago area to being a guest on shows like Dead files revisited.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like every career there are challenges but this career has completely different ones than your normal 9 to 5. At the beginning, I felt I had to fight to prove myself and to not get a reputation of a gimmick fortune teller because I truly wanted to help people and give them the closure they seek. Having lost my father and sister tragically. I understand the feeling of desperation for answers and closure, so I take what I do personally and to the heart. Even though I’m simply a vessel, what I do is very draining physically and emotionally. An 8-hour day feels like a 16-hour day. So, I had to learn how to take care of myself physically and emotionally. I mediate before I start each day and a few times during the day to reset myself. Besides that, I honestly have been blessed. I totally feel my loved ones on the other side are guiding and helping me on my path.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Psychic Medium Michael Gourley – what should we know?
I believe that I have gotten to where I am for being 100% honest with my clients. If I don’t connect with someone which does happen I tell them right away. I don’t tell them what they want to hear, I tell them what they are meant to hear but I do it with compassion and understanding.

What I’m most proud of is that I can use my abilities for good. I have donated my time and services too many charities around the Chicago area which benefited homeless shelters, breast cancer, kid’s activities, clients and more.
I also give away free readings every month. To people that need answers and closure but can’t afford it. Anyone can sign up for it on my website for a chance to receive up to a 60 min Medium reading.

I also host memorable and healing Medium Seminar events around the Chicago area that is open to the public. At these events, I communicate with the spirits and deliver their messages. The 2017 Live event dates will be listed on my website.

I have clients from around the world and all with different needs, so I offer different services. Sessions are available by phone, Skype/Facetime or in person. I also offer a psychic email reading for clients on the go.
