Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Vollf.
Andrea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My passion for design started when I was a child. I remember, back in the day, staring at spaces and imagining how I could make it nicer, prettier, and more functional. At that age I didn’t know much about interior design nor architecture, but one thing was certain: I knew how to distinguish good from bad design. Time passed by and I discovered the graphic design industry.
After working in New York City as a graphic designer for a few years, my passion for design and sustainability led me to a new career in the interior design industry. I started furthering my education at Parsons The New School for Design and, after moving to Schaumburg in 2003, I attended The Illinois Institute of Art where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. Since then my passion for design has been growing stronger and you can find my name on several articles published across US and Canada since 2009.
Recently nominated by the Daily Herald Business Ledger as one of the Influential Women in Business (2012 &2016) I’m an active member of the Village of Schaumburg Environmental Committee as I strongly believe in giving back to the community.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any other small business, my journey hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I have faced many obstacles – from building a brand to find the right clientele.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is the result of hard work and perseverance. You might fail once, twice, ten times, but you must keep moving on towards your goal.
