Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Tamte.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Megan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was a new mom, I began dreaming about a store that understood a mom’s life – because I felt no other retail brand did. After years of dreaming and planning, my husband and business partner, Mike, and I took a giant leap of faith to open our first Evereve store in Minnesota. We are a fashion brand designed to make shopping for clothes fun, fashionable and empowering. Twelve and a half years later, we have over 70 stores across the country, a booming online business and a sought-after styling subscription service called Trendsend.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When Mike and I signed the lease on our first store, neither of us had any idea how to open a store! We drove to the library and checked out book to guide our journey. One of our core values at Evereve is that we are always learning, never done growing. That core value was born out of our own mindset of learning and growing right from the very beginning. We had a vision, a dream and a business plan, but we had a lot to learn about execution. At every step of the journey, I am still learning and growing – and I never want to stop.
Evereve – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a retail brand for the fashion-loving mom. What sets us apart from other brands is our focus on the styling service. All of our employees in the stores are trained stylists – they are educated in body type, fit and the latest’s trends. We want to make fashion accessible to the busy mom – so whether she is stopping into our store between carpooling duties to snag an outfit for date night or requesting a styled box sent right to her door, we want to serve our moms where she is.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment of my career so far has been that I’ve been able to make my family my top priority, raise two happy and healthy children, and have a strong marriage while working hard to build a successful company. It’s not easy and it takes a lot of sacrifice, but it can be done.
