So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am 47 years old. My father Walter Pluciennik started this business in the 1960s. He came from Poland in his early 20s. He learned the trade in Poland and brought his expertise to America. I started learning the trade with him since I was 14 and now run the business since his retirement
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes lots of struggles. Economy, low cost of the new cheaply made furniture just to name a few
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Richs galaxy upholstery – what should we know?
We specialize in furniture upholstery, wood refinishing, and all your upholstery needs. I am the most proud of my father teaching me the trade the right way and being patient as I learned. What sets others is that we take pride in our work and we reupholster each piece like it is our own.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Understanding my clients and giving them 100 percent of my knowledge.
