Today we’d like to introduce you to Martha Peck.
Martha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We are three women Bonnie Stern, Mindy Baschnagel and Martha Peck, who began each of our antique businesses independently approximately 15 years ago. We began our collaboration 5 years ago and formed Redefined Decor in 2016.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Actually, we are very lucky in the fact that we have wonderful customers. We communicate with one another easily and we can honestly say we have never had “words” with one another.
Redefined Decor – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Long gone are the day’s shops with curio cabinets filled with trinkets on dusty shelves. The antique business today is decor driven. It is very much like the fashion business with trends going out of style almost on a yearly basis. Our vintage furniture and accessories are well curated we follow the decor industry’s trends and try to keep on point with what people want. We have a constantly changing inventory with new items coming into the store every day.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We are thrilled when both customers and designers make purchases from us. It is as if they are taking a little bit of us back home with them.
