Meet Argent and Bardhi Bajraktari of AMB Associates in Logan Square

Today we’d like to introduce you to Argent and Bardhi Bajraktari.

Two brothers, one vision: Argent and Bardhi started from the basics, a strong work ethic and dedication to customer satisfaction. These key elements are part of what helped AMB achieve the strong professional relationship they have with each client today. They grew from a few trucks, basic tools, and only a handful of residential clients to over a dozen working crews in residential and also some of the top management companies in Chicago. With two dynamic personalities, energy, and an in depth knowledge that over 15 years of experience brings to get exceptional results they are up for any challenge that comes their way. They created AMB from nothing but continuously learning about what the customer needs and to become the go to for whatever project they have in mind.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, we came to the US after the Kosovo War. It wasn’t an easy transition for anyone coming from the chaos. It takes a while to adapt and learn the culture and the people and the way things work, so we started out small by learning to do basic maintenance work in the condo we were living, you learn by watching, paying attention, and applying your knowledge, and sometimes you learn by trial and error. We can’t say that the road was easy, but it was interesting and full of learning experiences. We took some risks and they paid off, we started our own company and we just pushed forward, we tried our best, and now we couldn’t be more proud and thankful of what we’ve accomplished.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the AMB Associates story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a construction company, so we like to think we build your dreams! It’s funny how the home we live in or the place we work in everyday can have such an impact on us, especially if we change it. When we meet with clients in the planning process to discuss what they would like to have built or remodeled is where we really understand why they want this project done: their kids are grown up now they want to relax in a spa-like bathroom, they love entertaining so they would love a new patio, their company is growing so they would love to upgrade and keep their employees comfortable, this is what we love to do, give people the space they have always imagined, nothing makes us happier than seeing the look on their face during the final stages of the project!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck plays its own role in things, yes you should work hard, yes you should learn as much as you can, and yes you should try your best in everything that you set out to do, but sometimes you need a little luck or the right timing. It’s easy to say that luck is not a factor, but to a certain degree it can help or hinder you, it’s what you make of it after that really counts. How you react to the situation or how proactive you are before a situation is much more important than luck.
