Today we’d like to introduce you to Theo Oronsaye.
Theo, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
All my life, I’ve been into creative arts. I love how expressive one could be through their art. That’s what got me into it; it’s my outlet.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
When it comes to my art, I don’t like to limit myself. However, I don’t like to be all over the place either. So, I focus more on modeling and making music.
Since I could remember, I’ve been into taking pictures. I really love how pictures tell stories, as well as, capture moments. That’s why I do it. I want to be able to share my life with others through my pictures, while still documenting my life for my own reasons.
Now, I create music because it helps me express those thoughts that I can’t really express through photos. Not only is it an outlet for me, but I know that there are others around the world that can relate to some situations that I write about. I’ve never been the type to dwell on my situations and I always tend to get through whatever it is that I go through, and I want others to be able to get through their situations as well.
One thing about my art is that it’s very raw and authentic.
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success to me is fulfilling a purpose. I set small goals for myself daily and I’m successful once I complete them. I don’t measure my success by numbers or anything like that, because I know that when I put all of myself into my goals, the work I put in will speak for itself.
Patience is essential with any endeavor. Things don’t always happen the way we’d like for them to happen or as fast as we’d like for them to happen. Sometimes, it can be discouraging if we’re not patient with the process. Not only being patient with the process but being patient with ourselves. We’re still human and we make mistakes.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I post a lot of my work on my social media accounts, but not all of it.
All of my work can be found on my website.
I truly appreciate all the love and support that I get; the likes, shares, and views mean a lot to me.
I perform at venues around Chicago, too. I’d love for you guys to come to hear me out.
Also, I’m currently working on a couple pieces that will be available for purchase on my website, which I’m excited about.
