Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Pirtle.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Monique. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I would say I have always had a true passion for helping others and after successfully planning many events for family and friends. I began to realize my love for developing relationships, planning, organizing, problem solving, and managing events. I wanted to ensure that I could help people create a day that they would really truly remember, as many of my friends and family often complained that they couldn’t remember anything from their events or even wedding days. Thus, I sat out to open my own company that would do just that. I would say I began my career in the wedding industry in 2010. I truly desired to showcase the little touches and details of an event, many would say that’s what makes me unique! I am known by clients as a very detail-oriented planner.
I value building a genuine relationship with my clients and look to help guide each of them on a stress-free and enjoyable planning journey. My hope is to allow clients the ability to put their trust in me to take on the behind the scenes work, while they take in every moment and memory of their day!
I was born and raised in Oak Park right outside of Chicago, IL. I attended Western Illinois University, where obtained my BA in Communications and Broadcasting with a minor in Fashion Merchandising. I love being creative and, in my down time, I’m usually reading, crafting, or DIY’ing something. From decorating and planning in my day planner (an Erin Condren for my fellow planner nerds!) to cooking a new recipe for family and friends, you will not see me pass up a chance to take on a new creative adventure or challenge.
I am an active member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and the current State Manager for the Illinois chapter. I enjoy assisting my fellow members to become the best wedding professionals they can be as active members of the ABC.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not always been easy. I like most planners had to work a full time job to get my business off the ground. The challenge of multi-tasking life, my 9-5 as a corporate trainer, and being a business owner is tough. But I will not sacrifice quality for quantity. I only take on a certain amount of weddings/events each year and do not book more than one wedding/event in a weekend. I value building a great relationship with my clients and I respect their time and will be available when they need me most.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Of course! Chicago and the surrounding suburbs have so much to offer with a vast array of wedding and event opportunities. We have classic monuments, gorgeous architecture, beautiful parks, golf courses and venues.
I often tell my members in ABC the same thing. As the State Manager for Illinois, I take great pride in our state! I love speaking with people about what our state and the city can offer. We are unique and people come from far and wide to have their weddings in a unique, diverse, and beautiful place.
There is more than enough room in our city for up and coming wedding and event planners. I would encourage them to select their demographic area, do some research, and network with the vendors in that area. You never know what type of connections you can make and how that vendor in your area can help or even refer clients to you.
