Meet Sarah Miller of The Sweet Buddha in North Suburbs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Miller.

Sarah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started by making jewelry out of my home and decided to do a pop up shop at one of my husband’s vacant retail spots with my friend April. We incorporated candy to attract the kids so they would bring their moms in to shop! Somehow we expanded to offering dance classes, awesome birthday parties, custom gift baskets and offering gifts for all occasions and ages!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been AMAZING!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
With my company, I am very hands on! I do all the buying, host/plan all the parties and create the gift baskets! I like to make everyone who walks into my store at home! I have a very large couch with a flat screen television where kids and adults like to hangout, eat their treats and watch a little TV. If someone needs a last minute gift after hours, I am so happy to open the store for them! I love seeing the kids’ faces light up when they walk into the door!

What were you like growing up?
I have always been friendly and outgoing and some would even say “the life of the party!” I love making people happy!
