Today we’d like to introduce you to Philip Bradley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Philip. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have a passion for sharing stories through film. I was born and raised in Music City, and got my start in film production by making music videos for local Nashville artists. After that I headed to Chicago to work in advertising while earning degrees in digital cinema and design from DePaul University. I learned a lot during that time, and especially working for great Chicago video groups such as Optimus, The Colonie, and JBTV.
I opened up my own boutique production group Artifact Creative in 2014. Our studio started in Logan Square and quickly moved into the Loop. After a year of working in the Chicago area and traveling all around the world chasing down new stories to share, we moved Artifact Creative to NYC where we are currently headquartered. While we still have part-time freelancers in Chicago and Nashville, our main operation is based in New York. We have had the pleasure to produce films for several groups such as Facebook, Walgreens, The Onion, Susan G. Komen, Taj Hotels, and more.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning it was a steep learning curve on how to get new clients, and especially ones that want to produce films that match our style. Our voice is mainly based in a documentary and personal story based tone. We love to meet and share the stories of real people, and not just produce product ads for something we don’t truly believe in. We aren’t fully there yet, but I’m happy with how true to ourselves and personal style we have remained.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a collective of filmmakers with a passion for video production. Our videos are known for high quality content with compelling images and dynamic storytelling. We’ve had the privilege to work with some incredible organizations, and have established a reputation for delivering content that reinforces brands and creates effective campaigns. We’re visual people, so if you have the time check out or demo reel for a better look.
I personally am the founder and owner of the company. I see all of the projects that come through our doors from start to finish as the director and cinematographer. I’m very fortunate to work with a talented group of filmmakers that make these films come to life.
What sets us apart is what I’m most proud of. We have a distinct style that we do not compromise on with our films. This means we aren’t always the best fit for every project, but the ones we believe in we give our all to.
What were you like growing up?
I was definitely a creative growing up. Always taking things apart and putting them back together in new ways. Once I was given a camera in middle school I was hooked. I always had a camera with me, and would be making little shorts to upload to YouTube whenever I could.
