Today we’d like to introduce you to Franziska Miles.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Franziska. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I created my YouTube about 8-9 months ago after long consideration. I wanted to create a platform that spoke of love and appreciation for one’s natural self. For a long time, from an end of elementary to end of my high school career, I felt inferior. In that, I noticed I was neglecting to care for my hair, allowing my crown to disintegrate into almost nothing. I decided that was enough.
My goal to start was to begin educating, now my goal is to help someone with their journey, whichever point they are beginning. Natural Love was made with love in mind. It helped me to know and embrace myself for all I am while giving others inspiration to find themselves lovely inside and out.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worth it is ever easy the biggest struggle I would have to say is gaining that recognition for doing something you love and perfecting your craft. I can say honestly I am still working on that. It sounds cliche I know but just be yourself. That is more than enough. Yes, there is someone doing the same thing you are doing but they aren’t you. Own that and channel that.
Please tell us about Natural Love.
Natural Love is a YouTube platform based on natural hair care and advice. Although this just began 8-9 months ago, I am proud of how it has gone thus far in regard to interaction and comments. Whenever I see that someone loves the videos or is inspired it makes the journey worth it. There are various natural hair platforms, however, I would say what sets me apart is that I don’t only focus on that but coming soon will be an advice column on how I dealt with personal events, college, found myself and more. It’s Natural Love from the inside working it’s way to the outside.
Who have you been inspired by?
Many women have inspired me in my life. Of course, my mother and my sister are two huge inspirations to me because they push me endlessly to better myself while still reminding me of who I am and where I came from. Without them, I don’t think I would even be doing what I’m doing right now. They inspire me daily and I’m so grateful for them.
Another inspiration I would have to say comes to mind is Rochelle Graham-Campbell who is the creator of an incredible organic brand called: Alikay Naturals. With humble beginnings, she built an empire with the goal of helping naturalists and women in general love themselves. She wanted to make self-care a priority.
