Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Mahin.
Jeff, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2012, Francis Brennan and I were working together at L2O, a 2 star Michelin restaurant in Chicago’s Lincoln Park, and we hatched a dream of opening our own donut shop. We never thought it would actually happen, but in 2014, we opened our original location in the Loop. We made a commitment to only make our donuts in small batches so that we only serve the freshest, most perfect donuts at any time of the day. Things happened pretty quickly for us, and not long after we opened our second location in Streeterville. The second location added a couple of new components…namely that we also serve Chicken Sandwiches and Breakfast Sandwiches.
Has it been a smooth road?
Working with food is a real labor of love. It is physically and mentally challenging, but at the end of the day, it is so rewarding to share something with people that you made. Especially when you feel it is as good as it can possibly be.

Do-Rite serves artisan donuts made in small batches made every hour throughout the day. Each and every donut we serve is made on premise.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Chicago is one of the best places on the planet, in my opinion. Chicago residents are the best. They are down to earth, and they know good food.
