Today we’d like to introduce you to Doug Birkenheuer.
Doug, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’m a Chicago-based fine art photographer with a reputation for capturing the human form in exquisite expressions of emotion and movement.
Being the owner of Birkenheuer Photography I have developed a loyal following among individual collectors, galleries, magazine publishers and corporations.
I’ve devoted my talent and vision to photography for over twenty-five years. Graduated with an Associate’s Degree from the Antonelli Institute of Art & Photography in Cincinnati, OH in 1988, then relocated to Chicago in 1994, where I have built a reputation for exacting professionalism in both commissioned work and an ever-evolving exploration of my artistic expression.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’m a lover of design, architecture and picture framing and have chosen to express that through photography of humans. However this doesn’t stop with the actual photography…framing of them can play a large part in the message being conveyed.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
2-4 times a year I have Open Studio where folks can come by to view and purchase the work.
