Art & Life with Jennifer Hiser, 4Everly Adorned

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hiser, 4Everly Adorned.

Jennifer, 4Everly, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL. I have a Bachelor of Arts from the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago, as well as a Certification in Graphic & Digital Design from Parsons School of Design-New York City. Personally, I have always been a big fan of color, graffiti, and originality.

Professionally, I have explored numerous creative outlets ranging from working at well-known fashion magazines in New York City, to designing soft accessories for a global fashion brand in Chicago. While these experiences allowed me to grow as an artist and business woman, I always felt more so inclined to pursue my own niche and individual style of art. Designing pieces of furniture for my daughter’s nursery, is what ultimately led me to discover the area of design I was looking for.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I sell hand-painted furniture and accessories through my business, 4Everly Adorned. Our pieces are colorful, edgy, and heavily influenced by street-art. I created 4Everly Adorned to inspire children and adults through the use of art and color. Our pieces are meant to not only add an exciting flair to a room, but also to promote originality and self-expression. Part of all profits from 4Everly Adorned fund “Painting Days” at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
I don’t know so much about it being lonely, but it’s definitely challenging balancing the art/creative process and business side of things.

As far as advice for connecting with other artists…in my experience, Instagram has been the best for that. It’s such a great visual platform that connects you with so many talented artists from all over the world. I’ve met some really awesome artists through Instagram. They’ve answered my questions, given me advice, and never stop inspiring me.
