Fort Pitt Hotel Furniture is a family owned and operated hotel liquidation company that has been based in Chicago for 55+ years! Our company has grown over time to include offices in Los Angeles as well but continues to call Chicago home! Our one and only furniture outlet is located on Chicago’s Near West Side at 5150 West Roosevelt Road. Open to the public 7 days a week, it is one of the most unique, exciting and fun warehouse shopping experiences for the furniture shopping public in the know! Bargains galore are loaded into our 80,000 sq ft space weekly for the public to peruse and an educated shopper is our best customer as some of the biggest and best furniture brands in the world are around every corner at prices that are pennies on the dollar!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with any small family owned and operated business, struggles always exist, but for the most part, Fort Pitt has been lucky and built a reputation that very few in our industry can achieve!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Fort Pitt Hotel Furniture – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Fort Pitt liquidates furniture from large 4 and 5-star hotels across the country. What this really means is that we go in when a hotel updates/renovates its guest rooms and suites and take them out and then sell them to the public in our Chicago outlet store. Anyone can come on any day of the week to shop amazing used furniture items from hotels all over the world right here in Chicago.
We also sell goods wholesale which means that we have customers that own smaller hotels/motels who love purchasing furniture from 4 and 5-star hotels to use in their lower end properties. As an example, a client that owns a Super 8 Motel might purchase used furniture from a Ritz Carlton to use at their motel. We sell the client 30-40 rooms at a discount price since they are buying a quantity and they get to give the furniture that otherwise would have gone to a landfill another 5-10 years of life.
We have been a staple in Chicago homes for over 55 years now and continue to grow each year! Now we have some of the biggest decorators, stagers and designers shopping in our outlet every day to find the best bargains on furniture anywhere in the world.
Our outlet store in Chicago is one of the most unique, exciting shopping experiences a person can find when looking for high-end furniture pieces for bargain prices!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We continue to strive to be able to offer customers an amazing selection of used furniture for even more amazing bargain prices. No big changes are planned at the moment, as people really love what we do and give us positive feedback every day. We will always be on the hunt for hotels looking to renovate and update and offer us, and thus our customers, incredible furniture pieces!
