Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Shalit.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been a Private Yoga teacher and trainer for more than 15 years, more recently CrossFit. My husband is an Actor/Director/Producer but also an avid athlete and a CrossFit coach. When my husband and I moved to Chicago we decided we wanted to open something that combined our shared passion for CrossFit and Yoga.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I doubt anyone who opens a business has had a smooth road. Surely not at the start – our 2 year anniversary will be in February and our biggest struggle is attrition- in specialty gyms, there is huge turnover
Primary CrossFit & Yoga – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are the only CrossFit gym that really has a dedicated yoga space and gives as much credit to the Yoga as it does to CrossFit. We’ve created a hybrid class as well called WodNFlow it is our branded class merging 2 disciplines that complement each other.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
We define success by member retention and by word of mouth. Our success is directly connected to the success of our members.
