Meet Sari Levy of Lucid Realty in Addison and East Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sari Levy.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After years in the corporate world with positions ranging from Call Center Manager to Vice President of Operations across a multitude of industries such as refuse; energy; internet and concierge services, I decided I needed time for a break. During my break, a past coworker of mine, Gary Lucido, reached out and asked me if I’d be interested in starting a business. He’d spent years researching the traditional real estate brokerage and had bright ideas on how to make a difference. Knowing him to be incredibly smart, dedicated and tenacious, I joined him in forming Lucid Realty. We have spent the last 10 years refining our model and delivering exceptional savings and service to consumers in real estate transactions.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, but nothing easy is worthwhile. The real estate industry is full of complexities – and emotions. We started in 2007, right at the downturn in housing. We had to maximize every single opportunity. The biggest challenge was convincing people that we were not too good to be true. It took some time, but consumers are catching on to the fact that there are smarter more cost-effective ways to buy and sell real estate.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lucid Realty story. Tell us more about the business.
Lucid Realty is Chicago Areas Finest Full Service Discount Real Estate Brokerage. Our unique business model allows us to provide better service than traditional brokers despite rebating a portion of our commission to home buyers and offering a low commission to home sellers. We started our firm 10 years ago, motivated by extreme dissatisfaction with the traditional brokerage model. Our singular goal was to offer our clients an exceptional experience buying or selling properties while providing substantial savings to our clients.

Our clients save thousands – even tens of thousands – of dollars buying and selling homes with us. For example, on the purchase of a $500K home our buyer could receive up to $3,750 back. Our cutting-edge approach to real estate has not only earned us stellar reviews from clients but it has also placed us in the top 1% of the Chicago Association of Realtors Top Producer Teams for the last 3 years. Our team has closed transactions from Hyde Park to Lake Forest to Crystal Lake to Aurora and everywhere in between.

As a hands-on owner operator, Gary and I carefully oversee all aspects of the business, that includes personally answering every phone call and talking to all of our clients to ensure that we continue to deliver on our promise – exceptional service with maximized savings.

What’s your favorite memory from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood has to be the summers I spent in California with my Aunt. She always ensured I had the most awesome summers which included the many friends I made over the years and trips to the beach, the shopping mall, movies, fishing, swimming in great pools, eating ice cream at Farrell’s, picking strawberries in the garden, going to Camp Hollywoodland and going to day camp where I learned to take care of horses. We also did lots of traveling to campgrounds, lakes, and mountains.
