Meet David Wilczak of Next Level Electrical in Orland Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Wilczak.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was working for an electrical contractor for some years. There just came a time when I felt it was time to move on. I actually landed job with another electrical contractor. The first day on the job I had broken my leg. No signed papers that I was even an employee of the company. I spent the next 9 months without any income. I still am amazed at how I made it through that. When I was able to work again. It was my own jobs. Did a bit of general contracting along with the electrical work. To fill in the gaps.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A lot of highs and lows in the beginning. Much of the money I was making. Had to go back into the business for all sorts of different things. Tools, insurances etc. But faith and getting out there a taking my lumps every day. Has turned it into a much smoother road.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Next Level Electrical story. Tell us more about the business.
Electrical installations. Anything from new electrical services. Electrical installations for whole house rehabs. To installing a few switches or ceiling fans. I don’t ever want to think I’m too good to do something smaller. What I most proud of. Doing a professional job. Because it makes me like me. I like to sleep at night. At one time I use to look at how much was made and how long it took. What a frustrating way to live. I’m glad I’ve grown past that.

What sets me apart? I want to complete a job with the customer feeling like they received a good job. And a reasonable price. Honestly. Again I really enjoy sleeping at night.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t go by luck. I go by faith. I feel if I try a do the right thing. Great things will happen.
