Today we’d like to introduce you to Misse Daniel.
Misse, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was an event planner at a nonprofit and planned all sort of events: galas, cocktail receptions, silent auctions, etc. My co-worker, a fundraiser, was getting married and needed help with her wedding plans. After planning her destination wedding, I decided to open up my business. We celebrated our ten year anniversary this past May!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, my wedding planning business was a side hustle. By the middle of the first year, I realized that it could become my full time job. After creating a business plan, I took the plunge. The biggest struggle has been finding staff!

Honey Bee Weddings is an event and wedding planning business in Chicago. We have been planning events since 2007. We have a lot of experience in cultural weddings: Indian, Nigerian, Filipino, etc.
