Meet Michal Muszynski of Hairline Ink in Winnetka

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michal Muszynski.

Michal, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up In Poland I was always surrounded by art. Painting, drawing, sculpting, and music became part of my life from a very young age. That’s where I found the passion and love for art. I began to explore my passion for painting and drawing and soon discovered that I have a talent for creating amazing work. At first was I focused solely on painting and drawing, but as I grew older I began exploring various types of art. After High School, I decided to follow my passion and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Over the years, I continued to explore a different kind of art and shifted my focus to Fashion and Accessory Design as well as logo and graphic design. Throughout all of my studies, I also discovered my passion for tattoo art and different types of tattoo techniques. Soon I began to design tattoos for myself and others. One of the oldest traditional tattoo techniques that got my attention and interest is called Dot Work which in our world of practitioners is called Scalp Micro Pigmentation.

I began my struggle with thinning hair at a young age and decided to have my treatment done by the world’s largest Scalp Micro Pigmentation Company HIS Hair Clinic.  I was truly inspired by the idea and how much difference it made in my life and from that point on I wanted to share and pass on that feeling onto others.  Right then I knew that I found my true calling!  I traveled to the UK to the HIS Birmingham Clinic where I was trained by the renowned practitioners Paul Clark and Simon Lane.  My training continued in the LA Clinic where I worked with the very talented Zang.  After my training, I knew I had built my way up to be on the top of the pyramid as those guys are.

After working at the Chicago HIS Hair Clinic for many years I became one of the top practitioners in the nation.  My innovative and personal technique in density, more realistic hairlines and a style of a fade look have given me the nickname “Magic Mike” of SMP.  I feel humbled and inspired by clients that fly to Chicago from all over the world or travel from different states just to get their treatment done by me.

Over the years I have done close to 2,500 treatments!  I treat each client with dignity and make sure that every single person gets the best treatment and the most amazing results.  I want each client to have the same life-changing experience and feeling that I had years ago.

To me, SMP is a life-changing procedure where I get to work on a live canvas and where every client is my Mona Lisa. Once I’m done with a client’s treatment the most rewarding gift is the feeling of seeing how much I’ve changed someone’s life for the better, and the confidence they get right away. I love doing SMP! I don’t consider it work or a job or even a career, but more as my passion, art and an opportunity to meet and spend time with amazing clients.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Hairline Ink – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am the Lead Practitioner at the Hairline Ink Chicago clinic. My innovative and personal technique in adding density, more realistic hairlines and a style of a fade look have given me the nickname “Magic Mike” of SMP. I feel humbled and inspired by clients that fly to Chicago from all over the world or travel from different states just to get their treatment done by me. What I’m most proud of as being a part of the Hairline Ink team, also is what sets us apart from every other company; we truly care. A lot of SMP companies are just in it for the money; training new practitioners for as little as 3 days and then giving them a certificate as a certified practitioner. All of the artists at Hairline Ink have not only experienced hair loss & had treatment themselves, but they have gone through rigorous hands-on training for months & months before working on a client by themselves. We’re not here to crank out as many clients as possible. We’re here to change as many lives as possible, and that only happens when there is a genuine passion & care for every single client that walks through our doors.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Chicago is an absolutely incredible city. What is has to offer is literally endless. The fun, active, friendly attitude of the people who live here, the beautiful, clean, unique parks & landmarks, the pristine blue of Lake Michigan, the bountiful eateries around the Chicago Riverwalk — Chicago truly has it all.

I’d love to answer your question about my dislikes, but I honestly just can’t. Chicago is my favorite city & I’m very fortunate to live here. This isn’t a direct answer, but, one thing I would say I dislike is that I feel as though many people who have never been here viewing the city as ‘dangerous’ because of the crime rate, which, albeit quite high, it’s not something that you’re going to experience while you’re in the best parts of the city. Chicago is a peaceful, friendly, safe place & I hope everyone learns that from a visit to our city 🙂
