Meet Lisette Kreuzer and Renee Epstein of B-Well Wellness Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisette Kreuzer, Renee Epstein.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lisette and Renee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As teachers ourselves, we experienced first-hand the direct toll that teaching can take on a person both mentally and physically. As we researched more into employee wellness, we realized that the need for general employee wellness, morale boosting, and team collaboration activities extends into every facet of working America. We both pride ourselves on living healthy lifestyles, but we are aware that for many people, exercise and healthy eating often take a back seat to classroom workload and corporate demands. It has always been clear to each of us the healthier lifestyle an employee has, the more success he or she will see in their working environment because he or she will be more energetic, more creative, and more willing to collaborate. Our answer: B-Well Wellness Events. We are proud of the difference our B-Well events are making to teachers, small businesses, community groups, and corporate employees in Chicago-land and beyond.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is never easy. Funny enough, we booked our first school district event fairly quickly and on a whim. This was a true test to see if we could pull off a quality event in a short time frame. We did and learned a lot along the way. B-Well has run several events in schools since. Our greatest challenge has been branching out from school wellness events to running corporate wellness events. We have found it difficult to get in front of the right people who truly care about employee wellness and morale and are willing to bring the event idea to the powers that be.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the B-Well Wellness Events story. Tell us more about the business.
B-Well offers customized events that enhance performance, build morale, & create community connections. B-Well goes into schools, corporations, and communities to introduce participants to fitness, wellness, and self-care options within their own community.

Unlike a typical wellness fair, B-Well event participants complete workouts, get massages, and interact in healthy cooking demos (just to name a few). The idea is to get participants talking about and exposed to healthy living options within the community they work. Our hope is they will tap into these local resources to improve overall health and relieve stress. Alternatively, employers will see a healthier and less stressed staff.

We are proud to promote healthy living in a way that hasn’t been done before. We love that each event is unique since we bring fitness, wellness, and self-care options from the event host’s community only. A bonus is that every participant walks away with swag, raffle prize opportunity, and an arsenal of resources to reach out to.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We have a lot of plans for B-Well. In the next 5-10 years, we would love to have a team of B-Well employees beyond Renee, myself, and our amazing interns. Additionally, we would love to have contracts with numerous corporations for monthly events as well as continue our efforts with schools and community groups. B-Well is shooting to get in with insurance companies to offer breaks for those who have B-Well events. Long term, we hope to branch out to other states and have teams across the country.
