Today we’d like to introduce you to Liana Reznik.
Liana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am 30 years old, came to the USA 7 years ago from Israel. Came after my husband back then was a boyfriend, in Israel. When I was 16 years old, I decided to learn how to do nails, my parents needed help with income navies my dad got sick and I saw that as an opportunity. After I finish evening school for nails, I started to work at home and then rented my own table ina hair salon. When I was done with high school, I got the latter, it was for October 12, 2005, it was my day that I need to go to the army for 2 years to serve in the Air Force. The best time of my life. While I was there, I had the time to think about what I would like to do after that. I wanted something that will make me satisfied every day. I wanted something that I can help people at the end of the day, I love art and design, and I choose to go to college for the medical aesthetician.
After that, I saw that I don’t feel complete and I went to PMU school (permanent make up) for eyebrow tattoo, microblading, eyeliner. And was working in that but still was not enough for me… and then I found it. Areola nipple tattooing. Then, I knew that this is what I want to do the most, to help women after a long battle to feel good again with themselves and to love back their body. When I came 7 years ago, I started with nails again and today, have my own little office in a downtown Highland Park. But I was feeling so empty without my passion and after a lot of thinking, I decided to go back to that and open a second location for PMU only, and in that subject, I only start my journey and hope to find my self-working with DR.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think that no one has a smooth road in anything, only with hard work and challenges you can achieve what you want.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am not different from others when it concerns nails. The standard has to be always clean, have a quality product and not chip one, to be honest, and fair with everything, with PMU, I do microblding eyebrows/shading, eyeliners and the most my favorite is the areola-nipple tattooing for women that had mastectomy and reconstruction.
What were you like growing up?
I was a very good actress, my mom always was telling me that, lol! I love to dance, I dance 16 years professional ballroom dance. Very emotional, was always, taking to close to heart, and was thinking the girl on other than me.
