Meet Kevin Nejati of Dynamic Automation in Lincolnwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Nejati.

Kevin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m first generation born in Chicago. My parents are both immigrants and met here in the city back in the 80’s.

My father is an engineer and my mother a nurse. My dad was always stressed at work when I was a kid.

He had an idea for a gear that can be driven by a screw or bolt and decided to try and make it a reality.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t as good as a sales person as he was an engineer.

So I decided to learn whatever I need to in order to help my dad succeed in his business endeavors.

I’ve rebranded his whole company website and logo.

I also started marketing on all social media channels.

I’ve been helping my dad ever since I finished college. He was the only person who actually gave me a job.

The pay wasn’t anything special, but I’ve gotten the luxury of being able to spend quality time as well as work together with my dad on some very interesting projects that I would have never done otherwise.

Has it been a smooth road?
By the time I was in high school, most manufacturing went to China and the housing market crash didn’t help us out much either.

So I can into the business at its lowest point right out of college. I had no idea what I was doing.

I tried posting in an engineering forum back in the day and everyone trolled me off the site. It was very discouraging as a young kid fresh out of college.

It’s been 8 years and I’m just starting to figure out the business world, the engineering world, and the social media world.

I never wanted to see my dad fail and I was not going to ever let that happen.

He never gave up on me so I could never give up on him. I love my dad!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Dynamic Automation Inc., we design machines to automate your production and mechanical design engineering.

We also manufacture and sell our patented Screw-Gear Technology right here in Chicago!

The screw gear is our claim to fame especially now since all the automation design got outsourced to china.

I’m proud to be a part of the family business and will try to take it even further from here on out.

What sets our company apart from others is that we take precision seriously.

We make sure that when the parts get made, that everything fits perfectly the first time and works just like it should.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Being in Chicago is great for business. There is a lot of industries in the area and logistically it’s good for shipping since we are in the middle we can get things across the country faster than if we were on one of the coasts.

I think the city can improve the traffic situation. I believe they are trying, but no one will know if it will actually help with traffic congestion once all the new roads and highways are done.
