Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolanta Wulf.
Jolanta, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Poland, but in the early 90’s I migrated to the US. The moment I set my foot in Chicago, I fell in love with the city, its culture, the people, and the feel.
The energy of the city was so indescribable that I wanted to capture it and this is when I decided to purchase my first camera. During that time, I did not really know my intentions for wanting to photograph Chicago, I was just naturally following a strong emotion and feeling.
I realize now, that I was always attracted to photography and loved being behind the lens. Any chance that I had, I would take my camera at family gatherings, friend’s weddings, while out in nature, I was always thinking about the power of photography and its ability to freeze a moment in time and the significance that it has on us, humans.
It all changed when I finally decided to take the plunge and splurge on an entire suite of professional grade equipment and computer software… this was a game changer! I was able to exercise my passion to its full fruition and no one was going to stop me.
Here I am now, nine years later, continuing to feed my cravings to always capture the perfect moment in time. That perfect moment when someone smiles when a couple looks into each other’s eyes and one can feel the love, or when a first-time mom cuddles baby in her arms.
Capturing those emotions, at that exact moment is what matters. I am extremely blessed that I have the honor to be able to give this gift to my clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been a smooth road. For the longest time photography was just my hobby. But at the moment when I have decided to turn it into a business, I have realized what it takes to run a small company.
Marketing, building a website, internet presence, competition… the list goes on and on but I used my business background and thought myself everything that I could about running the photography business.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jolanta Wulf Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
Nowadays I am truly into embracing the natural light and using my artistic style to create beautiful portraits. I consider myself a perfectionist with my photography so I want to make sure that I can create timeless images that my clients can treasure for a lifetime.
What sets me apart from others is my unique vision, love for growth and challenge.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Not sure if I had any good luck or bad luck, I think I got to where I am at now by working, never giving up, and following my dreams,
