Today we’d like to introduce you to Goose Wayne.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
How I started my musical journey was a huge combination of contributions from multiple people and experiences. So many to be exact that I will try to explain as much as I can within this interview. Maybe to generalize everything my music journey came from struggle, love, community, friendship, hate, pain, bliss, family, most importantly culture. I could break down the entire journey but the two most specific to me that makes me who I am as a person and as an artist is family and my childhood grammar school. Both has taught me so much about who I am, what I am, and what our culture means and represents. I’m here to today because of that enriched culture. Everything I create, I create with the intent of representing and adding more higher value to an already beautiful but segregated and somewhat lost culture of life & music.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t a smooth a ride at all but I love my challenges, to me it truly builds real character if you allow it to. Good luck and bad luck play a major role in my music and life. I believe you cannot understand or comprehend true joy without pain.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in people and being myself. These two specialties allow my musical abilities to really flourish and to find deeper depth than what you hear now a days from the commercial propaganda onslaught agenda.
I’m very proud that money or no money I’m always going to stay grounded within my morality and values to create what I truly feel and staying original in a time when it’s too cool for people to copy the person instead of being brave enough to stand on your own art and words.
There’s no other music artist out there right now that blends jazz, funk, house, hip-hop, and soul into the way I create it. Besides being a great artist and performer I really believe being able to produce myself really give me the freedom and leisure to express how and what I really want to exemplify. My intentions aren’t to make hits or singles but to create my own elaborate experience that could evoke something out of people.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe any city, town or state within this country needs to improve on a lot of things. Chicago is one of those places enriched with such a beautiful culture, but at the same time is one of the most segregated and poorly governed cities in North America. There are many injustices that need to be exploited and weeded out like bad weeds in what could be a beautiful garden.
