Meet Eduardo Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Gomez.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I believe everything started when I was in college. As an Architect, I see the world from another perspective, in the end, they taught me how to do so. That’s when I began noticing all the already “existing pictures” in our world… mostly when I’m surrounded by buildings and the city. I never studied photography but the principles are not too far from what I already know: light, lines, shadows, feelings, perspective, composition, balance, etc. And I try to always keep those elements in my work.

Please tell us about your art.
What do I make? Hard to said, I try to evoke feelings, I want you, when you see one of my photos, to see the order in the lines, see the balance that the building creates in the city, see how perfect the moment was, that you can experience how tall the building looks from my point of view, even when you’ve never been in that place. I think that’s what I like about photography, in a very similar way with Architecture I’m trying to make you feel and experience something.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
I think every person who has started something, has also struggled with this kind of situation. I believe taking this as a part-time job at first would help. Keep doing whatever you are doing for a living but devote your spare the time to your passion and little by little your work will grow and you will start achieving more by investing more time and effort until the day you can make the decision to leave everything else behind and dedicate yourself fully into this. That will make things easier for you.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Today’s world as an Artist or almost everything is digital, you can find my work mostly on Instagram and I’m working on my portfolio page, you can take a peek here, also, if you love one my pictures don’t be shy and check out my page where you can buy a print!
