Meet Donna and Jordan Lomnicki of GQ Formalwear in Elmhurst and Schaumburg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna and Jordan Lomnicki.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
GQ Formalwear has been proudly family owned and operated since 1970. Back in the ‘60s when custom tailor, Ed Lomnicki first opened GQ Formalwear he vowed not to let a tuxedo out of his shop unless it fit like a glove. Three generations later, his vow is honored with every rental and yesterday’s ringbearers and prom boys are now today’s great looking grooms.

Has it been a smooth road?
Fashion, especially formalwear has come a long way over the years. The internet and social media totally changed the wedding industry, and it is so important to stay up to date with styles, colors, and what’s popular. It has been a long journey for the Lomnicki family, and it is a true testament to our hard work and dedication that we have managed to continue to succeed in the saturated wedding industry. With lots of competition including big box stores and online companies, GQ has managed to build and maintain a strong reputation and large client base by word of mouth, a refreshing “mom-n-pop” feel, and most of all quality products and service.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with GQ Formalwear – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Style, selection, and service like no place else. At GQ, we go to work for you. Maintaining the hottest new trends and colors while finding that perfect fit for your big day. GQ is one of the only formalwear stores that stocks and maintains its own inventory – which makes last minute rentals and changes possible. Also, being able to try on a variety of styles and fits in your exact size to see what looks and feels best is key.

At GQ, we take the worry out of weddings. Our “Simple-Fit-Service” guarantees it. No need to go to the “Big-Box” tuxedo store. GQ’s “Simple-Fit-Service” ensures all your out-of-town attendants will have a perfect fit. Just have your men get measured at any local formalwear specialist and submit their sizes on our website. When they arrive, their tux will be ready for the “Final-Fitting.” We can make any changes on the spot.

Final Fitting: GQ Insists on coming in for a final fitting the week of your event. At GQ, we don’t just hand you your tux and send you into a fitting room. Each customer is assigned an experienced GQ Fitter to adjust pants, suspenders, and vest, to make sure your tuxedo fits perfectly. Any changes or adjustments needed are done while you wait by our expert tailoring staff.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?

Having the opportunity to fully try on styles and fits allows bride and groom’s the opportunity to find that perfect look and feel for the big day.
