Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Wiley.
Charles Wiley C.S.T., L.M.T. has been working in the Lake View area for over 8 years.
Born and raised within walking distance of Lake View Bodywork, Charles is proud to set up his practice in an area, he calls home.
Charles graduated at the top of his class, as a massage therapist and body worker at The Chicago College of Healing Art in 2008. Known for his amazing pressure and his ability to identify the interconnected imbalances in his clients’ structure, he knew there was still much to learn.
He expanded his field of expertise and became a Certified Structural Therapist in April of 2011.
Studying at The Chicago College of Healing Arts, has given him a unique perspective on bodywork integration (finding the source of stress in the body as opposed to merely rubbing out knots that constantly return). Small class sizes, with highly skilled educators invested in their craft, allowed Charles access to a wealth of knowledge and experience. With a substantial investment in his continued education, his well-rounded approach to massage and body work is not to be missed!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Working in Lakeview has been a great experience. The real keys to successful bodywork are consistency and making each session as tailored as possible.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lake View Bodywork – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in pain management, posture rehabilitation, yoga/Pilates maintenance, and stress management.
So, what is bodywork?
Bodywork is effectively combining different massage modalities in one session to maximize results. Bodywork feels good and helps long term too.
What is Structural Therapy? Structural Therapy is advanced myofascial adjustment. Simply we work with the mortar (connective tissue) and the bricks (muscles.)
The fascial system is one continuous, laminated, connective-tissue sheath that spreads without interruption throughout the entire body in a three-dimensional web. Fascial mobilization allows therapists to locate and address restrictions in the fascial system that are causing asymmetries, postural misalignment, abnormal tensions, and pressures that can lead to pain and dysfunction. The goal of fascial mobilization is to produce a well-balanced, symmetrical, and mobile body within the skeletal, and soft-tissue.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We look forward to expanding and hiring a few exceptional bodyworkers. We also introduced the LVB Club.
