Meet Bela Khizer of Skokie Institute of Allied Health and Technology in Glenview

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bela Khizer.

Bela, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always wanted to provide and help the community with affordable career training programs. In 2016, I came across three people I know who were looking to open a higher education institution. We discussed how we can help the community. After a detailed discussion and an online research the board of directors and I decided to open a non-profit institution that provides with convenient online career based programs.

We started the company in June 2016. We started working on the programs and creating the programs in July 2016. The programs were approved by Illinois Board of Higher Education in March 2017 and we started enrolling for our programs in April 2017. We currently offer online career programs in Personal Fitness Trainer, Nutrition/Wellness Coach, Medical Billing and Insurance Specialist and will be offering Pharmacy Technician and Neurophysiology Technician in July 2017.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Opening up an institution was not really a smooth sale. We have students but we are still creating a name for ourselves in the higher education market. The main struggle was marketing and choosing the right tools for marketing our programs and institutions to get students enroll and see the importance of career training to improve their financial and economic demands.

Another challenge was to enroll students as many students first thought that enrollment for a career training means giving them their current jobs, getting them to understand that they can get the training they need and want to get a promotion doesn’t mean leaving your current job. They can be in school part-time and still be able to handle their financials.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Skokie Institute of Allied Health and Technology(SIAHT) – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our institution is a higher education institution. We have been awarded as the Best Institutions in Glenview, IL Area. I am the Executive Director and my responsibility is to manage day to day operations, create new relationships with different organizations to have healthcare partnerships and also business relationships.

Currently SIAHT is known for its customer service and appreciation for its students. We are a student centered institution. We are proud of the programs and services that we provide to our students. What sets us apart from other institutions is that we provide with affordable online education that anyone can afford. We provide our students with the latest technology to be able to complete and get their career education.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
