Meet Amber Snearl of Amber Snearl Art in Uptown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Snearl.

Amber, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been writing, drawing and creating for as long as I can remember but I always kept my passions to myself. It wasn’t until I graduated college that I began painting and writing for others to see. About 2 years ago, I decided to start a blog and showcase my art online. The rest was history!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, throughout college, I was a full time athletic, student and I had a part time job in sales. I had very little time to dedicate to the things that kept me going creatively. I had to constantly balance my talents and eventually found my groove once I graduated and was able to dedicate more time to what I loved to do.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Amber Snearl Art – what should we know?
I’m a jack of all trades, I write and publish blog content for small businesses in Chicago, sell customized hand-painted handbags and I’ve just begun a venture in teaching painting classes for a boutique in Wisconsin. I’m most proud of my art right now, it’s truly a reflection of my growth among the years and seeing customers sporting their custom good just makes my dreams come full circle. What sets me apart is that I’m unapologetic. I like to do and say things my way – I have this: “Amber wrote/painted this” quality that I don’t plan to change!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Collaboration with locals. I think working with other creative people in my area is what helps me to flourish the most. Working with others gives me the chance to explore areas of myself that, at times, I didn’t know where there.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story and artistry. It will be an honor to sport one of your bags. I will be sharing your catalog with my girls (mom & sis) next weekend for Mother’s day before placing a final order. Keep doing what you are doing, you are an inspiration, poetry in motion.

    With Love,
